Road trip to Kitzbühel

This year I had the most perfect ski holiday in Kitzbühel with my English family, which I have no words to thank enough. We are all in one piece (unlike my daddy who broke his femur at the beginning of the year skiing) and the ski holiday came back to be my favourite from a long time. From the beginning it was a great adventure, so I must write  step by step to share all those dots that made the greatest of holiday and could be your tips:

  • Charles and I were in Livorno, so we had to hire a car.
  •  We left on Friday 17th and stopped in an amazing resort over lake Garda. It was quite hard to join as it was high over a hill after Salò and I understood why Mussolini chose to build his last republic in 1943 there. Those places are so charming. The Lefay resort is a luxurious bulwark in the middle of nowhere with the most charming spa: several swimming pool, but I especially liked the outdoor heated one, with all the colours changing and jets of water over the lake; then the salted lake with the big moon (a kind of Dead Sea); the gym overviewing the lake; the charming oriental style hammam and the sauna with the iced lake… A perfect place to refill the energies and have a huge breakfast in dressing gowns.IMG_6182.jpg
  • The road to Kitzbühel the next day was very pleasant. 3 hours run fast under the sun bordering a beautiful lake such as the Garda. I was impressed entering into Kitzbühel to drive past the building in which Spectre was turned: remember when 007 (Daniel Craig) has to find the blonde Bond girl to be who knows about Sceptre (Léa Seydoux)? Then Kitzbühel, which I liked at first sight with its coloured buildings containing the kind of shops that I like, QUALITY ONES (we had Louis Vuitton, my favourite, right in front of the hotel ;)). The hotel Zur Tenne is the kind of place you can miss all the year, with its woods, spacious rooms, pleasant charming spa, interesting guests, kindness of people working there and especially a bar where you can smoke into and a Russian bartender which of course was of help in practicing my Russian as I spent the week tracking Russians and asking them about Dugin, Putin, what they think about Trump etc. I decided that instead of even trying being a diplomat and be obliged to go living in Rome (chaotic hell!), I will definitely do the exam to be a journalist. And anyway, I am already to an extent and intend to surmount the profession with a huge boost to this blog once I am done with the dissertation (end of April nearingggg). Such a great time in all senses. Skiing was lovely, we found great weather and surviving the terrible moguls in the soft snow showed that I could ski everywhere. But if ski is a pleasure, going with my english ma shopping and having the nails done was of course even better – the cherry on the cake! Skiing must be balanced with a great town where to walk and find interesting spots. Spa is not enough. Life on the mountains is the most boring if there is no decent shopping to do but just restaurants to be hangover out of pure boredom. That’s why Kitz is so great – there is everything, and I could sincerely live there for periods. We missed the casino as there is more than enough to see and buy!
  • Heartbroken to leave that paradise, Charles and I left on Saturday 25th and stopped this time in Verona, where we had a romantic walk around the arena and Juliet’s balcony before going to eat Asian food (we missed it after all) and getting lost in the daedalus of streets on the way back to the hotel.
  • On the 26th we were back in time for lunch to celebrate fish daddy’s birthday.

So we are back to the “routine” of me finishing the thesis and being somehow stressed (actually, I went nut in Kitz on Tuesday when skiing I was obsessed on finishing the last chapter and in fact did it the same day). Charles was the usual angel in accompanying me to the university yesterday… Meanwhile, Cheshire is under the snow and I miss my English parents. I send them lots of thought and love, I am the luckiest girl on planet to have such an in law family!

And of course to all readers!!!

Welcome to the life of the Rich and Dysfunctional

I didn’t want to write on this ambitious, senseless/meaningful corner until I was back to the peninsula Italiana as I was pretty busy writing the much more meaningful and revolutionary thesis – did you know that Nietzsche wrote his “So spoke Zarathustra” in Eze? – and much also starting a personal TOP SECRET romance while reading some Russian writers and ending Jordan Belfort’s “The wolf of Wall Street”. Ending it before starting to deep into the very life of the place left alone by the parents was seriously enlightening. In fact, this post bears an expression of the Wolf. Friends, followers and owers friends my life is supposed to be back to normal – which means 3 meals in regular times and some text messages as from the secret contract of parenthood – my extremely amazing stunning fantagenitori…. I wanted to share publicly what I learnt in this depraved (thanks JB again) place while flying free here and there without even a car – in fact I am walking home right now after a fast drive in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a matter of survival: distinguish the Wolf, the aspiring Wolf, the Hopeless, the Miserable. There’s a Normal category but it depends by your points of view and in mine whoever lives here or even attend here cannot be considered like that. In fact, like in Pareto’s law, the few that makes it are automatically geniuses and differently from the original Wolf they don’t even need to abuse drugs – this is heaven, if you consider Crystal and Dom Perignon something hurtful giving addiction and of what you can abuse, so yeah probably you might want to be in the place. Actually it’s considered disgusting drinking and be out of control, business and reputation are the very core here. If you show up and tell bullshits, you fuck visibly around and you get drunk very often (or the 3 together) and you ask too many questions or you give too many details about your life you’ll go automatically from aspiring or hopeless to miserable. Here’s competitive, you can achieve great results and/or money to live well off easily – as easy is to lose everything as well. The same with marriages. I actually received some proposals on both kind of works – pro and household – as it is fashion. But actually, is it that worth? To that I answer – YES. Life is a surprise, life deserve not to be about continuous complain as it is in all the rest of the world! Work, taxes, politics, scandals and money, family, problems, school, anger, tiresome and ENVY against whoever makes it and complaints against the home nation and how it would be great to live elsewhere. I had to experience it and make great home fights to experience and truly understand. Parents are dumb of course, appearance is about many miserables and escorts – but it’s not the whole vision, it is just a part of it to be aware of. And to be aware of, you have to survive those kind of depravity. As it is to survive envious boring normal average people. Excuses to my friends, followers, relatives, grandma: you call me crazy and don’t take advantage of my generosity in inviting you to experience so here’s my confession. Your normality is probably my killer and my saver. Life is more positivity than negativity and the latter must be overthrown – so overthrow your conceptions and live smartly! Because heaven cannot be joined easily – there’s still to resist temptation… And wherever temptation is abundant is much more interesting 😉

Blondewithbrain chooses her French heaven

20140702-161246-58366680.jpg

I moved to French Riviera for the whole summer season after having stressed my family to let me go alone there… I decided to cut the bonds with Livorno and Florence for a while – the time to get inspired for my thesis while enjoying the pleasure of being in the best place of the world in this period. My motivation in Italy was at his lowest grades, my family and friends were distracting me and I couldn’t practice languages nor thinking about what to do in my life. By the present moment I know: research, dolcevita, interesting meetings and why not between them some ideas of a job. I have my cv in my hotmail account just in case someone might be interested in a 22 years old Italian girl who speaks 5 language in this cherished part of the world. But I don’t have any priority right now apart the thesis. Everything that comes by is a gift – travels, new friends, party, tanning and getting blonder, places, freelance job (?), love (???). Thanks to my beloved family that gave me behalf and high standards… And that even filled my fridge leaving me willingly to take care of myself cooking in that lovely frame 😉
